September 2008 PTSA Messages
Nourish Every Mind
Welcome back from the Issaquah Schools
Foundation. We look forward to another wonderful year of
partnership with Issaquah School District and all our strong
PTSA’s. Your support through event participation, parent
networking and generous donations helps us improve
educational resources for every student in our District.
Nourish Every Mind
2008 is coming soon. On Thursday, October 16, 2008 Issaquah
Schools Foundation will host its largest annual fundraising
event, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Issaquah Community
Center. This year, we expect over 900 parents, civic and
business leaders to join us for an afternoon that showcases
ISF grant recipients, celebrates the school
district/foundation partnership and informs guests of the
tremendous impact private support has on our public schools.
The suggested minimum donation is $150. All proceeds will
benefit ISF programs that advance academic achievement,
support struggling students and promote professional
development.
We hope to welcome back the many PTSA’s
who have joined us in the past. Last year, PTSA
participation from schools including Cougar Ridge, Liberty,
Briarwood, Challenger, Skyline, Newcastle, Issaquah Middle,
Clark, Grand Ridge, Issaquah High, Issaquah Valley, Cascade
Ridge, Beaver Lake and Apollo helped
Nourish Every Mind
raise a record $315,000. Our goal for this year is $400,000.
We can’t do it without you.
Contact your PTA president or your
PTSA’s ISF liaison to make your

best interest.”

Make an investment in your child that
can pay immediate dividends. The Issaquah School District
receives $739 less in per pupil funding than the average
Washington School District. This leaves our District with an
$11.6 million dollar revenue disadvantage per year. A
donation to the Issaquah Schools Foundation helps to bridge
this gap and provide the District with the funds it needs to
prepare our students for success in school and in life.
