Shark Tales

President's Note

by Heidi Fuhs

‘Tis the season…as the saying goes.  It is a good time to reflect on what this season is really about.  It is cold outside, so we like to feel warm inside. What makes us feel warm inside?

Just a few days ago, giving thanks made us warm; giving thanks to all the friends and family who brought blessings into our lives.  At school we are thankful for the devoted teachers, staff, and friends who enrich our children every day.  And we are thankful for the parental involvement of Clark families in these crucial growing years of our children.  Thank you for supporting your school, thank you for supporting your children!

Now we are moving past our season of thanks and into our season of giving.  We give gifts to personalize our relationships with those we know well, or to extend kindness to strangers less fortunate than ourselves.  In our school and community we also give our time, our talents, we share our lives.  So now is the season to reach out, to share your gifts.  Everyone has something to give, even if it is just a smile to warm someone’s day.  ‘Tis the season…to find your way to give a smile!

PTA Nominating Committee Needs YOU!

Help shape thefuture of the Clark PTA! We are looking for 3-5 volunteers to serve on the Nominating Committee to find candidates for next school year’s PTA leadership. You will spend about 10 hours between January and April talking with committee members and parent volunteers to fill various PTA positions.  No experience necessary – you will be provided with information on the responsibilities of each position and seek willing volunteers. There will be a district training session on January 28th. This is a great opportunity to get involved with the PTA on your own time.  Nominating Committee members will be elected at the Jan 19th General Membership meeting.  If interested, please contact Heidi Fuhs at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Are you registered to Vote?

If not, we encourage all eligible (US citizens of 18+ years) voters to register immediately. The next election affecting the education of your children will be the 3 Issaquah levy renewals for technology, transportation and operations by mail-in ballot on Feb 9th; make your voice heard! Applications to register to vote are available in the main Clark kiosk, or in the PTA office.
